Chemical Peels are performed November-May
They aren't as scary as you may think. Many women watched the aftermath of Samantha Jones' chemical peel from Sex and the City and feared that they too would have to wear a dark-colored veil to go out in public. That was a either a drastic peel gone wrong or done strictly for entertainment.
(I'm voting for the latter!)
A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to skin to peel away the top layers. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and younger looking. They can help with fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture, acne scars and large pores (reducing the appearance of both). Chemical peels can be done at different depths - light, medium or deep - depending on your skin. Each type of chemical peel uses a different chemical solution.
It's okay not to see visible exfoliation (flaking) after a peel. It can depend on your skin and what build-up you may or may not have. The chemical peel will still create inner change regardless of the depth. These are typically done in a series for the best results.
Home care products are key to producing great results. If you are using products at home that are recommended, then I know exactly how they work together with the peels. This is an important step. Not just for the results but also for the condition of your skin during the series. The purchase of skin care products for at-home use is mandatory.
TCA Peel * $100
It is mandatory to be on a complete skincare routine for 1 week prior to peel. Click here to checkout required products.
The TCA Depigmentation Peel is mild but very effective and delivers lighteners down to the melanocyte without traumatizing the skin. The TCA Peel is buffered with azelaic, arbutin and kojic acids, which are tyrosinase inhibitors that control hyperpigmentation, melasma, or sun damage. The combination of these acids is a beautiful peeling treatment for evening skin tone, reducing acne, and retexturing the skin.

Preparation of Peels
Begin homecare products for at least one week without irritation prior to your first procedure. This will help derive the most benefit from your treatment. Do not use Retin-A (Tretinion or any similar product) for 1 week prior to the treatment.
If you have a breakout of cold sores or fever blisters on the face before your scheduled appointment, please notify your Devyn and reschedule the appointment. Avoid sun exposure or sun burning before your scheduled appointment.

What to Expect After a Peel Series or Cranberry Peel
Exercise, sauna, whirlpool, and hot tub should be avoided (perspiration is salty and can cause drying and flaking of the skin); it is preferable to wait until the peel process is complete (generally 7-10 days).
If small patches of irritation occur, apply a hydrocortisone cream on the area for 2-3 days. DO NOT PULL ANY SKIN OFF YOUR FACE – NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE AREA. Skin needs to flake off, not pulled off. Some people will use scissors to cut the skin that is already falling off the skin. That is okay to do as long as you don't pull at the skin.
It is within normal limits to experience a slight crusting of the face; also some discoloration may occur. All of these occurrences are temporary. Remember that we are chemically burning the skin so it dries and flakes off.
What to expect after a salicylic or TCA peel:
Day 1: Pink to red skin
Day 2: Skin looks normal, but starting to look brown.
Day 3: Skin looks brown, wrinkley. This is the effect of the chemical peel; it will flake off!
Day 4: Skin is beginning to crack and the start of peeling occurs. Do not pick.
Days 5-7: Skin is flaking and peeling off. Do not pick. New, fresh skin is revealed.
Days 8-10: Cheeks and forehead will continue to slough, but the results of the peel are being seen with fresh, healthy skin.
